New construction electrical breaks into two phases: rough-in (wire pulled while walls are open) and trim-out (devices installed after drywall and paint). The two phases are separated by 4-12 weeks of other work — drywall, paint, flooring, cabinetry — and the schedule is rarely under your control once it starts moving.

The single biggest cost driver in a new-construction electrical job isn't the wiring itself; it's coming back for change orders. Adding a circuit after drywall is closed is 3-4× more expensive than during rough-in. So the most useful thing we do early in a build is sit with you (or your GC) and walk every room: where do you want pendants? Recessed cans where? How many outlets in the kitchen? Smart switches in which locations? EV charger circuit pre-run? The decisions you make at framing dictate what the home is capable of for the next 50 years.

Working style

Owner-builder or GC — we work both.

You're the GC

Some of our best new-construction work is for owner-builders running their own project. We pre-walk the framed shell with you, talk through every room, give you a written rough-in plan before we pull a single wire. You make the final calls on placement; we tell you the cost and code implications of each.

Inspection is on us — we schedule it, fix anything flagged, hand you the sign-off paperwork.

You have a GC

We sub for several Asheville and Buncombe County GCs on new builds. Standard sequencing: framing complete, MEP rough-in (us, plumbing, HVAC), inspections, drywall, finish work, electrical trim-out, final inspection. We coordinate directly with the GC's schedule.

Pricing for GC work is straightforward — fixed bid based on square footage and circuit count, with change orders priced separately. We don't surprise the GC with mid-project add-ons.
