When to call us
Six signs your home wants an electrician.
- Flickering or dimming lights. Could be a loose connection, an overloaded circuit, or a panel issue. None of those fix themselves.
- Breakers that keep tripping. The breaker is doing its job — but something is asking too much of it. Find out what before something burns.
- Outlets that feel warm or look discolored. Heat at an outlet means a connection is failing. Replace before it arcs.
- Burning smell near a panel or outlet. Stop using that circuit and call. If the smell is strong or you see smoke, call 911 first, us second.
- Adding a big load. EV charger, induction range, hot tub, generator — any of these need a load calculation and probably a dedicated circuit. Sometimes a panel upgrade.
- An old fuse panel or Federal Pacific / Zinsco breaker box. Both are documented fire hazards. Replacement is a safety priority, not maintenance.

Real emergencies — sparking outlet, burning smell, partial power loss — get worked into the schedule immediately. No to both. We don't charge a trip fee just to come look. We don't have a minimum job size. Whether you need a single outlet swapped or a full panel diagnosis, we'll come out and quote it. That's a deliberate difference from the national franchise competitors — most of them charge a dispatch fee whether you book the work or not.
It depends on the job. A simple outlet swap or breaker replacement is typically in the $150-$400 range. A diagnostic call to track down a flickering-light issue or persistent breaker trip runs $200-$500 depending on time required. We give you a quote before we start work — no surprise bills.
Almost always — but the right fix depends on why it's tripping. Sometimes it's an overloaded circuit (we move loads or add a new circuit). Sometimes it's a damaged breaker or panel issue (we replace the breaker or repair the panel). Sometimes the panel itself is undersized for the home's loads (we recommend a panel upgrade). We diagnose first, then quote the actual fix.
