Then call us once the fire department clears the scene.
(828) 551-9843 — we work these into the same-day schedule.
These aren't urgent — but they shouldn't wait either.
During business hours (M-F 8am-7pm): Andrew or a crew member answers when you call. When you describe the emergency on the phone, we re-arrange the schedule to fit you in same-day. We have three crews and a shop in West Asheville — we're typically 15-30 minutes from anywhere in Buncombe County.
After hours, weekends, holidays: leave a voicemail at (828) 551-9843 with your address and a description of what's happening. Urgent voicemails get a callback first thing the next morning, and we'll work you into the day's schedule before non-urgent jobs. If you can stabilize the situation safely (turn off the affected breaker), do that and call us at 8am.
Active danger: if there's smoke, flames, sparks you can't shut off, or anyone is injured by an electrical incident — call 911 first. We can rebuild damaged wiring after the fire department clears the scene, and we work with insurance carriers on documented electrical-fire repairs.
We're not a 24-hour answering service — we're a real local electrician with three crews. After-hours calls get priority, but the actual work usually happens the next morning unless it's an active danger handled by 911.
Stop using anything on that circuit. Turn off the breaker if you can identify it. Call 911 if there's active smoke or flames. Call us at (828) 551-9843 immediately for non-emergency burning smell — we will work you into the schedule the same day. A burning smell at an outlet means something is arcing or overheating, and it can escalate fast.
Yes. Sparking outlets indicate a failing connection, damaged wiring, or overloaded circuit. Stop using the outlet, turn off the circuit breaker, and call us. Do not just plug into a different outlet — the underlying issue (often loose neutrals or overloaded wiring) can be present elsewhere.
Sounds like a partial-power loss — common causes include a failed neutral connection at the panel, a damaged service drop, or a tripped half of a 240V breaker. Don't reset breakers repeatedly (you can damage them). Call us — partial power is dangerous because some appliances see lower voltage and can be damaged.
The breaker is doing its job — something on that circuit is drawing too much current. If it won't reset at all, the breaker itself may be damaged. Don't force it. Call us; we'll trace the circuit, find the cause, and either repair the issue or replace the breaker.
Active smoke, active flames, or anyone injured by an electrical incident — call 911 first. After the fire department clears the scene, call us to assess the damage and rebuild the wiring. We work with insurance on documented electrical-fire repairs.
We answer the phone Monday through Friday, 8am to 7pm.
