The single most common light-fixture mistake we fix in older Asheville homes: a heavy ceiling fan mounted to a standard junction box that's not fan-rated. Fan-rated boxes are required by code for ceiling fans because the cyclic load eventually pulls a non-rated box loose from the joist.
